How We Verify Users

Learn about our verification process and how we build trust in the platform.

Trust is the most valuable currency on KOVR. To ensure a safe and reliable community, we have implemented a multi-layered verification process for every person and company on the platform.

Worker Verification

Every worker must complete a verification process before they can apply for shifts:

  • Identity Verification: We use government-issued IDs (driver's license, passport) to confirm your legal identity.
  • Payment Verification: Linking a bank account or debit card adds another layer of financial accountability.
  • Platform Monitoring: Our automated systems flag accounts with suspicious patterns or multiple policy violations.

Employer Verification

We vet employers to ensure they are legitimate businesses that pay workers fairly:

  • Business Verification: We confirm company details, Tax IDs (EIN), and business addresses.
  • Payment Method Hold: We ensure employers have a valid payment method on file that can cover their labor costs.
  • Insurance Compliance: We check that businesses carry the necessary liability insurance.
Privacy Note: Your sensitive data (like SSNs or ID photos) are encrypted and handled by specialized secure partners. KOVR staff only see "Verified" or "Not Verified" status.

The Rating System

While initial verification is great, long-term trust is built through history. Our peer-review system ensures that people's reputations follow them:

  • Workers rate employers on work environment and payment speed.
  • Employers rate workers on skill, punctuality, and attitude.

Why Haven't I Been Verified?

Common reasons for verification delays:

  1. Blurry Photos: Ensure your ID photo is clear and all text is readable.
  2. Name Mismatch: The name on your KOVR profile must match your legal ID.
  3. Expired Documents: Ensure your ID is currently valid.

If your verification is stuck, please contact support and we'll take a look manually.
